My Story
Pastor Andre´ Byrd Sr.
Reverend Andre’ Byrd, Sr. is the founding pastor of New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas. A visionary leader and devoted servant of God, he has guided this thriving, non-denominational congregation in both spiritual and physical growth since its inception on October 5, 2003.
Answering the call to ministry in 1997, Reverend Byrd was licensed to preach that same year. Prior to establishing New Covenant, he faithfully served as Musical Director and later Youth Pastor at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Dallas. His deep commitment to biblical scholarship led him to earn a degree in Religious Studies from Southern Bible Institute and pursue advanced theological education at Dallas Baptist University. In recognition of his impactful ministry, he was honored with an Honorary Doctorate from Texas Bible Institute and Seminary and is also a Certified Faith-Based Counselor.
Beyond the pulpit, Reverend Byrd’s passion for serving the community is evident. He actively contributes as a Board Member of Baylor – Juanita Craft Diabetes Health Aware Center and has been honored by the City of Dallas, the City of DeSoto, the Dallas Fire Department, the National Baptist Convention, and several Texas universities for his leadership and outreach. As founder and president of Covenant House, he provides a safe, rehabilitative space for men recovering from substance abuse. His commitment to ministry extends globally, reaching communities across the United States, Japan, and Ghana, West Africa.
A Dallas native, Reverend Byrd is happily married to his high school sweetheart, First Lady Jacqueline Byrd. Together, they share a beautiful family—daughter Angel, son Andre’ II, son-in-law Ramon, and their beloved dog, Star. With faith at the core of their lives, each family member is actively involved in ministry.
Prior to entering full-time ministry, Reverend Byrd enjoyed a thriving career in financial management (1985–2006). However, in 2006, he fully embraced his divine calling, dedicating his life to advancing God’s kingdom and serving with an open heart, always ready to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
A woman of faith, grace, and vision, First Lady Jacqueline Byrd is a founding member of New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, established alongside her husband, Pastor Andre’ Byrd, Sr., on October 5, 2003. From the church’s early days, she played a vital role in its foundation, serving as administrator, choir director, and worship leader. Her passion for ministry led her to establish the Women’s Ministry (2005), Women’s Dance Ministry (2006),and what is now the New Covenant Bible Institute (2009). Answering God’s call, she stepped into the preaching ministry in September 2011.
Lady Jacqueline’s dedication to spreading the gospel has taken her beyond the pulpit and across the world. Alongside Pastor Byrd, she has ministered throughout the United States, Japan, and Africa, breaking cultural and language barriers to fulfill their shared mission of bringing the message of Christ to people everywhere.
A Dallas, Texas native, Lady Jacqueline met and married her high school sweetheart, Pastor Andre’ Byrd, Sr. Their love and partnership have flourished for over 34 years. Together, they are blessed with two children, Andrea and Andre’ II,and a cherished son-in-law, Ramon Kinloch.
With unwavering faith and a heart for service, First Lady Jacqueline Byrd continues to empower and inspire others, standing as a pillar of strength and leadership within New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church and beyond.
